Media Release:

Golf Australia, the national governing body for golf, and Future Golf, Australia's largest and fastest-growing golf membership platform where golfers can access a variety of clubs, off-course venues and more, have announced the expansion of a landmark three-year strategic partnership.

Spanning 2026 through 2027, this alliance represents a bold commitment to drive participation and accessibility across the sport at a time of unprecedented growth.

The partnership is built on three core pillars:

  1. A revolutionary Strategic Investment Fund focused on supporting incremental growth in golf participation throughout Australia
  2. National player handicap services provided to Future Golf members via the Future Golf app
  3. Comprehensive player insurance coverage

All Future Golf members will continue to be able to access an official Golf Australia handicap via the Future Golf app along with extensive player insurance benefits, ensuring the highest level of service for members. This ensures that Future Golf members enjoy the same protections and access as traditional club members, while maintaining the flexibility and modern appeal that has made Future Golf a success.

At the heart of the partnership is a shared commitment to grow the game of golf by guiding Future Golf members toward traditional club memberships, reinforcing Future Golf’s role as a key driver of club growth. To date, more than 14,000 members have made this transition through the Future Golf pathway.

Central to the agreement is the launch of a Strategic Investment Fund, co-developed by both organisations, which will direct investment towards further growth at grassroots level - particularly focusing on supporting new golfers and women getting into the sport - which in turn will continue to drive ongoing take-up of golf club memberships across Australia.

The Fund is designed to be a game-changer, targeting areas that will create sustainable growth and foster a lifelong love of golf among new and returning players alike.

Ali Terai, Founder and CEO of Future Golf, said:
"This three-year partnership is the next evolution in our mission to grow the game by enabling access to golf. Working more closely with Golf Australia allows us to offer even more value to our members while investing meaningfully in golf’s future. We’re creating real pathways that make the sport more inclusive, accessible, and exciting."

James Sutherland, CEO of Golf Australia, added:
"This collaboration with Future Golf reflects our shared vision for the future of golf in Australia. Over the next three years, we’ll be working together more than ever before to expand the game’s reach, support innovation, and engage new communities.”

We’ve worked closely with Future Golf as an affiliated member since its inception as a pioneering social club membership, and they’ve done a fantastic job growing the game. The Strategic Investment Fund is the next evolution of working together and will be pivotal in building a more vibrant and sustainable golf ecosystem."

With this partnership extending through 2027, Future Golf and Golf Australia are laying the groundwork for lasting impact, empowering the next generation of golfers and creating a stronger, more unified golf landscape across the nation.
